The monument to Stalewara (Metallurgist or Gornovoy) is located in the square of Metallurgov Ave., Severnoe shosse, near the Kirov Culture Palace (ZK ZK).
Once the prospectus of Metallurgists bore the name of Stalin, before the war - Enthusiasts, and during the years of German occupation - Taras Shevchenko. On the monument there is not a single line in the section "Zaporozhye region" of the 26-volume "History of cities and villages of the Ukrainian SSR". He does not mention a single word in the essay "Hot Breath", dedicated to the history of the Zaporizhstal metallurgical plant, in the guide-book "Zaporozhye" of the local writer and journalist Nikolai Klimenko, published in 1978 with 100 thousand copies. On page 35 of this publication it is reported that "there are more than 80 monuments in the city that perpetuate the revolutionary, combat and labor feat of the Cossacks," states journalist Nikolai Lozovoy (IT).

Nevertheless, the monument to Metallurg was created by the famous Zaporozhye sculptor Ivan Nosenko and installed in November 1963, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the first smelting of cast iron in the blast furnace of the Dneprovsky Industrial Complex. The first smelting of cast iron was carried out on November 16, 1933, since then this date is considered the birthday of the Zaporizhstal plant.

According to the plan of the city authorities, the monument symbolizes the worker of the metallurgical complex. Behind the back of Metallurg, the factory zone begins - the industrial heart of Zaporozhye. The monument itself is built of brick, concrete and cement.
